The activity of ascension to the ferratas route consists in the progression through a climbing itinerary equipped with different systems: staples, dams, handrails, chains, hanging bridges and slides that will help us to move forward.
The origin of this activity can be found in Austria in the year 1843, where the ascension to a mount was equipped to make it easier, even if many relate this activity with the itineraries equipped during the First World War in the Dolomites with defensive purposes.
Nowadays it has become a differentiated activity and many fans, mainly because this are equipped itineraries with a lifeline to ensure the ascension through anchorage ropes.
As in many destinations which offer mountain activities, in the zones of Huesca new itineraries have been equipped to increase the possibilities of those who want to enjoy this activity.
Be encouraged to enjoy by yourself, in group or with your family of these vertical paths, hand in hand with a IFGMA High Mountain Guide who will ensure your security and will teach you how to use the materials and how to progress through this terrain.
We offer you some of the most classical ones in the zone of Huesca so you can get started with this activity. We’d like to highlight the Canal of the Palomo, which is the oldest of Spain for some and has been recently restored.
