Experienced
This proposal is intended for canyonists with experience who want to perform the most relevant part of Central Pyrenees, but we mustn’t forget that in this zones there are other great descents like the Garganta de los Navarros, Lapazosa, Ordiso and many others.
Programme
- Day 1: Sorrosal Ravine. Its last waterfall is one of the most photographed one in the Pyrenees because it’s placed in the village of Broto, one of the entrances to Ordesa National Park, and it has a pathway that many tourists follow so they can photograph this last waterfall. This descent has several jumps and slides that, not being mandatory, will give us that adrenalin dose that some are searching for. Its ending is amazing, with two 50 metres rappels chained with a hanged cauldron that will leave an amazing memory in us.
- Day 2: Salto del Carpin Ravine. Also called the Cebollar Ravine due to the great number of bulbs that look similar to onion bulbs, it is characterized for its last vertical that, chaining two rappels, a 70 metres rappel and a 55 metres rappel, will take us to the Bujarelo Valley, in the Ara river. Mainly vertical descent that performed in its optimum water point will leave an amazing memory in us.
- Day 3: Combination Trigoniero+Barrosa. This combination of ravines closely spaced will allow us to perform a complete journey in which we will have jumps, rappels, amazing slides… Next to the french border, it is a technical activity with cold water that can be considered for devoted canyonists.
- Day 4: Foz de la Canal Gorge. This descent is one of the referral descents for many canyonists that visit the Pyrenees. It’s a complex and technical descent that, characterized by the great rappels, keeps in its last section a big 70 metres jump that won’t let us unmoved. From that medium point, the sequence of rappels will give us the dose of feelings that deserves a descent of this size.
- Day 5: Aigüeta de Eriste. Apart from the descents that we will perform in this programme, the Aigüeta de Eriste descent is a benchmark of the activity in the Pyrenees. It’s a descent divided in 4 parts even though the most attractive can be found in its 3rd and 4th parts. Many canyonists know it because of its 25 metres shuttle slide even if all the descent is amazing through jumps, rappels, slides…A descent addressed to experienced athletes that will leave a great memory in us.
