Mountaineering Level II

Course addressed to those with some experience in wintry mountain who want to acquire the necessary knowledge to confront climbs of an average difficulty like the corridors or classical north faces of the Pyrenees.

• Basic materials for wintry mountain
• Target dangers of wintry mountain
• Rescue systems for avalanche victims, Arva protocol and searching in case of avalanche
• Progression techniques in snowy terrains
• Self-arrests
• Knowing how to progress through ice, “all points” technique
• Basic knots
• Snow anchoring
• Securing techniques in snow, dynamic securing and basic roping.

 Necessary material

• Mountaineering boots
• 35l bag
• Impermeable jacket
• Impermeable trousers
• Warm clothes
• 2 pairs of gloves
• Bonnet
• Sun and blizzard glasses
• Food and water

*Optional: if you don’t have some of these materials we can borrow you some to make the course.
